Two young women in the city of Semnan, northern Iran, were attacked and acid splashed on Saturday, February 27th when exiting a beauty salon. They were severely injured as a result. One of these young women has been transferred to a hospital outside of Semnan Province for treatment.
This acid attack took place when state Bassij paramilitary and plainclothes agents loyal to supreme leader Ali Khamenei, who have carried out similar attacks in Isfahan and Tehran, enjoy impunity to this day.

According to a report posted on the Internet, a hardworking Iranian street vendor by the name of Amir was viciously attacked in Tehran’s Jomhouri Avenue by state security forces. He then set himself ablaze with gasoline, protesting such an attack. Bystanders rushed him to a nearby hospital and images of his painful suicide attack were posted on the Internet.
