On Thursday (February 17th), a website called Exit published a completely false news, according to which a member of the Mojahedin Organization, along with two Albanians, robbed a pharmacy in the Kamza area of Tirana. Written by Alice Taylor, the article attributed its lies to a document signed by prosecutor Elina Kombi in Tirana.
In a contact by representatives of the CJPA and the People’s Mojahedin of Iran (PMOI) with Prosecutor Elina Kombi, she stressed that the document published by Alice Taylor in Exit was a forgery. The prosecutor pointed out:
1-The names of the Mojahedin have been intentionally entered and forged in another document that has nothing to do with any of the Mojahedin.
2- The original document was related to the theft from a pharmacy by 3 Albanian teenagers, but in the exit document, a name such as one of the Mojahedin living in Ashraf has been forged instead of the first accused.
- The counterfeiters have not even mentioned the date of birth of this new person, the inclusion of which is required in such official documents.
- In the forged document, the letterhead belongs to the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office, but the signature and stamp under the forged document is fake, especially since the forged stamp belongs to the Pogradec City Prosecutor’s Office (in eastern Albania), which has nothing to do with Tirana. This by itself proves the document is a forgery.
On the other hand, the Albanian police announced in a statement on February 17, 2022 that the document attributed to the police was also fake and “was published in order to misinform the public.”
In relation to the above, the prosecutor Elina Kombi has filed a complaint today, 24 February 2022 for criminal offence of “forgery of document”
CJPA recalls that in a book by Hadi Sani Khani, a collaborator of the Ministry of Intelligence of Iran, published in June 2021, Gjergji Thanasi is introduced as an agent of the Ministry of Intelligence of the Iranian regime who works in Albania for this regime. Therefore, it is not
surprising that Thanasi published the document on his Facebook page on the same day, February 17, 2022, at the same time as Exit.
This is not the first time that Exit and Alice Taylor have published fake documents of Iranian regime agents against the Mojahedin in Albania. On December 4, 2021, Taylor claimed in another article in Exit that she had a document from the police accusing the Mojahedin based in Ashraf of drug trafficking, money laundering, etc., and that the police had arrested two Mojahedin members in this connection.
We emphasize that the residents of Ashraf have never committed any crime in this country, none of them have committed any illegal acts and have not been arrested, and no criminal case has been filed against them in the Albanian judiciary and prosecutor’s office.
On the other hand, since the Mojahedin of Iran have always been the first subject of terrorism of the Iranian regime, the purpose of demonizing, slandering and destroying its image is to lay the groundwork for terrorist acts, an example of which was disclosed in details in October 2019 by the Albanian Police General Director.
Due to the terrorist threats against the lives of Iranian refugees living in Ashraf 3, CJPA calls on Albanian police and judicial authorities to prosecute the forgers of government documents. Lawyers for the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) are pursuing the matter through legal channels
