In recent weeks the Iranian regime’s notorious intelligence ministry (MOIS) by forging Albanian state police and the judiciary documents has stepped up its demonization campaign of the Iranian Mojahedin (PMOI/MEK) in Ashraf3 in Albania.
In an effort fulfilling the Iranian regimes dirty charlatanism against PMOI/MEK, Gjergji Thanasi, a reportedly agent of the Iranian regime in Albania attempted using counterfeit identity and signature of an Albanian prosecutor. On February 17, 2022, Thanasi published on his Facebook page a fake document attributed to Mrs. Elena Kombi, an Albanian prosecutor in Tirana, claiming that one of the PMOI/MEK members had attempted to rob a pharmacy in Kamez, Tirana, and that prosecutor Kombi had subsequently filed an indictment following a complaint from the pharmacy owner. However, after learning of the falsification, using her name and signature, prosecutor Elena Kombi declared the document to be a forgery and sued the forgers and publishers.
This was not the first time that Gjergji Thanasi put himself at the service of the bloodthirsty dictators in Tehran by propagating cheap and sheer lies against the PMOI/MEK.
In mid-March, some Persian speaking media covered another failed attempt of the Iranian regime. It took two years until a legal complaint filed by Gjergji Thanasi came to final result. A criminal court in the Albanian city of Durres decided that Iranian Mojahidin’s (PMOI/MEK) legal adviser had done nothing wrong to call Gjergji Thanasi, Albanian national, an agent of the Iranian terrorist regime.
After two years of the review of the documents with several hearings, the court ruled out Gjergji Thanasi’s complaint against Behzad Saffari, the PMOI/MEK legal adviser. Thanasi had filed a suit that Behzad Saffari accused him of “spying for the Iranian regime”. The court ordered Thanasi to pay the court expenses.
The court’s decision was based on the evidence and information provided by PMOI/MEK legal team. Saffari and his lawyers presented numerous irrefutable documents to show that Gjergji Thanasi was engaged in espionage, served the purposes of Iran’s Ayatollahs, and was promoting lies and conspiracies that Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence pursued against PMOI/MEK, a prelude to the regime’s savage terrorism against them.
Hadi Sani Khani, a formerly recruited agent by MOIS in Albania, has published a book revealing the conspiracies of Iran’s intelligence (MOIS) in Albania. Sani Khani defected the MOIS network and published his book in June 2021. This book also talks about those recruited in Albania by Iran’s intelligence and paid to act against the PMOI/MEK. The book identifies Gjergji Thanasi as an agent of the Iranian regime, who is paid 1000 Euros monthly by MOIS. He has been taken to Iran quit a few times and has active contact with the network of Iran’s mercenaries in Albania.
Another name revealed in this book is Olsi Jazexhi, who sometimes accompanied Thanasi in trips to Iran. He, absurdly, introduces himself as a researcher and historian, same as Gjergji Thanasi who carries out his services to Iranian regime in the cloak of a journalsit. In an interview on August 30, 2020, displayed on YouTube, Olsi Jazexhi admitted that he was being paid by the Iranian regime. In August 2019, this so-called researcher participated in a conference organized by the “New Horizon” in Mashad, northeast of Iran. “New Horizon” is an Institute belonging to the terrorist Quds Force for recruiting spies. It is also listed as a terrorist organization by the US Treasury Department. Quds Force itself has been listed by US and some other western states and is behind many terrorist activities in Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen and else.
The fake complaint by Gjergji Thanasi was not the only fraudulent action by Iran’s intelligence. Publishing fake news, mostly against PMOI/MEK, has been the first priority of Iranian MOIS in the past four decades.
The Albania lawyers defending Behzad Saffari in the court, commented that the court’s decision of annulling Thanasi’s complaint is another indication that Behzad Saffari, as well as other residents of Ashraf3, act in full compliance with the laws of the Republic of Albania and will not allow the enemies of the Iranian people to achieve their evil goals.
