Vice Presidents Pence: We stand with the Iranian people
The U.S. Vice President Mike Pence emphasized on the resistance of the Iranian people against the Mullahs’ regime. Referring to the large demonstration of the supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran –PMOI/MEK- in the Capital Washington DC, VP Pence said to the CBS Face the Nation on Sunday, " what we want to do is stand with the Iranian people, thousands of which gathered outside the White House on Friday, and tens of thousands which, took to the streets last year in communities across Iran, we want to stand them to see Iran come….
On Friday, June 20, 2019 thousands of Iranians gathered in front of the US State Department in Washington and marched towards the White House. They expressed their support for the Iranian Resistance and its president-elect, Maryam Rajavi. Demonstrators also expressed their support for resistance units and councils in Iran.
A number of prominent American personalities, Congressmen Brad Sherman and Tom McClintock, former US Ambassador and Governor Bill Richardson, Vice Chief of Staff of the US Army General Jack Keane and Senator Robert Torricelli spoke at the rally.
The overwhelming majority of Iranians are extremely disenchanted after decades of oppression, discrimination, economic malaise and international isolation.
After massive uprisings in 2018, daily protests now animate the socio-political landscape throughout Iran, with protestors hailing from the full breadth of the country’s social strata. While some worry about the impact of sanctions on ordinary citizens, no single protest has denounced international sanctions, instead pointing their finger at the mullahs’ wholesale theft, plundering and corruption as the main source of the country’s growing economic misfortunes. Demonstrators chant: “One less embezzlement, our problem will be solved.”
