According to reports received this morning Thursday, December 28, thousands of people and plundered investors in Mashhad gathered in front of the city's municipality in protest over the cost of living that has hit the people.

The protesters chanted slogans including “Death to the dictators”, “Death to Rouhani” and “you misused Islam as a ladder for your goals and made people miserable.”

Police attempted to suppress people and disperse the demonstration by firing into the air and throwing tear gas grenades in the crowds, but the people resisted and mutually chanted “Police, go catch the thief”

Mashhad is the capital of Razavi Khorasan Province and the second most populous city in Iran.

In two other cities of this province, Neyshabur and Kashmar similar protests were also held, according to reliable sources.

In a video posted on social networks, people of Neyshabur chant “Don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid, we are together in this” and "Forget about Syria, think about us”.
