Three women political prisoners in Iran issued an open letter condemning the July 4th rocket attack against Camp Liberty in Iraq, home to a community of Iranian refugees, members of the opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MeK).

Political prisoners Sedighe Moradi, Zahra Zehtabchi and Maryam Akbari Monfared, currently detained in Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison, condemned the attack and called “on all those whose hearts beat for humanity to seek the arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators behind this attack.”

These crimes against Camp Liberty residents have been continuing for years, they explained, calling on human rights advocates and international organizations in democratic countries to take action. “How many of our dear loved ones have to lose their lives until the deaf ears start hearing and blind eyes start seeing?” they asked.

This letter describes Camp Liberty residents as people who will remain loyal to their oath to liberate the Iranian people, and standing for the rights of their nation. Sacrifice is necessary for humanity to continue, the letter adds.
