According to a report by the German Radio website on 26 May 2020 the German Christian Democratic Party, branch of Hamburg, called for a ban on the activities of the Iranian regime's center for export of fundamentalism and espionage called and "Hamburg Islamic Center".

The center supports the Lebanese Hezbollah terrorist group.

Dennis Gladiator of the German Christian Democrats wrote in a letter to the Hamburg State Parliament that the center was in contact with Beit Khamenei and that Beit Khamenei would appoint the head of the center. Beit Khamenei is the office of the Iranian regime’s supreme leader.

He quoted Hamburg Department of Homeland Security as saying that: “the Islamic Center of Hamburg has set up networks throughout Germany, through which it completely controls or influences some Shiite mosques”.

The latest activities of the center were holding a ceremony on the occasion of the death of the commander of the terrorist Quds corps, Qassem Soleimani, in December last year.  The ceremony was met with a wave of protests by German figures.
