Introducing the local agents of the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence (MOIS) in Albania

On March 10, 2025, the Persian-language website Iran Efshagar published an enlightening letter from a former agent of the infamous Iranian Ministry of Intelligence (MOIS) in Albania detailing some of the secret activities of the Iranian regime in Albania. This open letter was written by Abdolrahman Mohammadian to the Secretary-General of the United Nations. He had been cooperating with the MOIS against the Mojahedin (MEK) members in Albania for 5 years until June 2023, when he left the country.

Mohammadian explains in his letter that he left the MEK in Albania in the hope of going back to Iran and meeting his elderly mother.  He then, went to the Iranian embassy in Tirana to get permit to go back toIran. However, the embassy’s condition for his return to Iran was cooperation in espionage and demonization activities against the MEK in Albania. He even published a book full of lies and slander against the MEK, on the orders of the MOIS.  He writes: “In these few years, I have been tormented by my conscience every hour and every day because of the lies we have produced against the MEK.”

In his letter, Mohammadian also exposes several local agents of the Iranian regime’s MOIS who were in his network. These people take their orders from an agent named Ebrahim Khodabandeh in Iran, who is the head of one of the branches of the MOIS called the Nejat Society. Mohammadian introduces these people as follows:

1)Olsi Jazexhi: He studied communications in Malaysia and ran a website and was based in Kuala Lumpur. He worked in connection with the regime’s embassy against the PMOI.

2) Gjergji Thanasi: He pretends to be a university professor and has visited Iran many times and met with agents of the Ministry of Intelligence and the IRGC, including Ebrahim Khodabandeh, and planned against the PMOI. His photos with the IRGC have been published in various regime media outlets. Thanasi was in contact with the mercenary network on many occasions as the embassy’s liaison and participated in ASILA programs. The ASILA later changed its name to the Nejat Society of Albania)

3) Dashamir Mersuli: He was used to set up the Frank Cafe. The ASILA Association was registered in his name and he was openly in contact with agents of the Ministry of Intelligence and had also visited Iran. (The Frank Cafe was created by the MOIS in the Fresco area in Tirana as a cover and hang out for its agents)

4) Erisa Idrizi: In 2017 she married Sarfaraz Rahimi and the Ministry of Intelligence employed her as a translator in the “Asila Association” and announced the fake gathering of the “Asila Women’s Association” with her. In 2024, Idrizi traveled to Doha, Qatar, with Aldo Sulollari, where they interviewed Soraya Abdollahi and several other intelligence agents who introduced themselves as disgruntled families of the PMOI and made a documentary called “Mother of Love of Separation” which was completely false in Albanian and was shown in Albanian cities to defame the PMOI. (The MOIS has now promoted Erisa Idrizi to the position of head of the Nejat Society in Albania.)

5) Aldo Sulollari: He participated in all the rallies of Asila for a long time and received money in the name of preparing reports. This person was later officially hired as the head of Asila’s journalistic affairs and rented a studio in the Fresco neighborhood and is active in arranging interviews with local press for individuals and spreading lies against the PMOI. (The MOIS has also deployed Sulollar’s wife and several other women in his family for the objectives of the MOIS. Sulollari receives money for publishing the MOIS’s nonsense in the name of these women.)

A number of investigative websites have also published reports introducing the Iranian regime’s agents in Albania named by Mohammadian. Some of the reports can be accessed at the following links:
