On Thursday, April 7th, 2016, marking the 5th anniversary of the bloody April 8th, 2011 attack on Camp Ashraf, home to Iranian opposition members in Iraq, two groups of Iranian Ministry of Intelligence (MOIS/VEVAK) agents in the cities of Tehran and Karaj, totaling 30 individuals, attacked the family home of martyrs Akbar and Mahdiye Madadzadeh in Karaj, arresting two of the guests in this house.
We remind you of the fact that on April 8th, 2011 when Mahdiye and Akbar Madadzaeh were slain alongside 34 other members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran in Ashraf (PMOI/MeK). Iranian regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei had ordered then Iraqi prime minister Nouri al-Maliki to carry out focused attacks with battalions of armored, infantry and mechanized infantry troops to massacre all Ashraf residents.
Iran’s MOIS/VEVAK agents told the Madadzadeh family, “We had warned you not to hold any ceremony marking their anniversary. You intended to hold a martyrs ceremony, and that is why we attacked this place.”
The MOIS/VEVAK agents were present at the house until 11 pm, viciously inspecting all personal items and other belongings in the house.
The conditions of two older women, Mother Madadzadeh and Mrs. Kobra Amir Khizi, are reported very dire due to psychological pressures and the MOIS/VEVAK agents’ vicious measures. They were rushed to a local hospital for medical care.
State agents arrested Mr. Karim Kohandel and his wife, A’zam Madadzadeh (the sister of Mahdiye and Akbar Madadzadeh), along with their 13-year-old child. The three were transferred to the Karaj Intelligence Department. The small child of this family was released at 4 am on April 8th, while Mr. Kohandel and A’zam Madadzadeh have remained in detention for no given reason.
According to local residents the mullahs’ MOIS/VEVAK agents had for a period of three days placed the home of this family under surveillance three days prior to April 7th, controlling all their commuting. They had even broken a closed-circuit camera installed above the door of their house door so the agents’ commuting would not be recorded.
