The Escalation of Internal Human Rights Violations
Following the nationwide uprisings of December 2025 and January 2026, the newly installed dictator Mojtaba Khamenei has drastically escalated domestic terror. To survive the widespread protests, the state resorted to massacring thousands of innocent demonstrators. Inside Iran, severe human rights violations including mass executions, arbitrary arrests, and violent punishments have become daily realities. The international community has taken note; nations like Switzerland and Slovenia have explicitly condemned this brutal internal crackdown, calling on the government to immediately halt the violence and protest-related executions targeting its own citizens. The mullahs are terrified of the Iranian people, utilizing extreme suppression to maintain their fragile grip on power.
Exporting Crisis Through Regional Aggression
This intense domestic suppression is inextricably linked to Tehran’s external warmongering. Unable to quell internal dissent, the regime exports its crises through regional terrorism, which culminated in a massive regional war erupting on February 28, 2026. In response, the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) convened an urgent session in Geneva, adopting a consensus resolution that unequivocally condemned the Iranian regime’s unprovoked missile and drone attacks on Gulf states and Jordan. A coalition of 47 member states, including Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, demanded an immediate halt to these “egregious” and “deliberate” strikes, insisting Tehran provide full reparation to all victims.
The Humanitarian Toll of Expansionist Terror
The sheer scale of this expansionist aggression has inflicted a devastating humanitarian and economic toll. Regional representatives detailed how the regime deliberately targets highly populated areas and civilian infrastructure, including airports, ports, and energy facilities. The UAE intercepted over 2,000 Iranian ballistic missiles and drones, describing the escalation as random behavior undermining global security. Following a strike on Kuwait’s international airport, officials labeled the acts as terror waged against civilians. Furthermore, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights warned that Tehran’s blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is causing widespread disruption, delaying critical supplies like food and medicine, and flirting with unmitigated catastrophe.
Global Isolation and the Path to Peace
Tehran’s regional isolation is absolute, drawing strong condemnations from European nations and former mediators alike. Even Oman, which hosted mediated talks just days before the conflict, denounced the strikes. Saudi officials highlighted the regime’s inherent treachery, noting that targeting mediators proves the religious fascism ruling Iran cannot be appeased. In a pathetic attempt to deflect, the regime’s ambassador resorted to threatening Gulf countries with baseless conspiracies. Ultimately, diplomacy and concessions only embolden the mullahs to export further destruction. Achieving lasting peace in the Middle East is impossible without addressing the regime’s domestic atrocities and recognizing the Iranian people’s legitimate right to overthrow this dictatorship.
