Iraqi Academics and Intellectuals Society called yesterday on the Iraqi officials to arrest the agent of the Iranian regime by the name of Massoud Khodabandeh and his British wife. This society emphasized that these two people are known to western intelligence agencies in Europe as the agents in the service of Iran’s security organizations.
In their statement, the Society explained: Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence has brought Khodabandeh to Iraq recently to carry out the missions of this regime under fake titles. This agent, who has been exposed by British parliamentarians as being involved in murder and torture of political prisoners in Iran, introduces himself as a defender of “ human rights” and as an “ NGO” and …., and meets with Iraqi relevant ministries under such titles to brief them aligned with the goals of the Iranian regime.
The statement partly reads: In June 2004, when Mr. Win Griffith, the British MP, following international pressures on the Iranian regime, managed to visit the notorious Evin prison, where is the place that a lot of prisoners have been tortured and executed, in his report about this visit wrote: “ When I entered Evin prison for the first time, I was amazed to see a British woman inside the prison beside the interrogators and waiting to meet me. I asked her name. She said: I am Anne Singleton. I figured out the story there that why they had brought a British woman to the Evin prison to meet with me as a member of British Parliament.”
The statement also added that Massoud Khodabandeh is a dangerous agent of the Iranian regime. He is the coordinator of part of intelligence network of Iran out of the country. He meets with other regime’s agents in Malaysia and Singapore and has come to Iraq for this same cause. Last month, Iran’s intelligence brought another agent by the name of Mostafa Mohammadi from Canada to Iraq, who is still in Iraq. This agent also contacts reporters and tries to bring them to the service of Iranian regime’s goals.
Iraqi Academics and Intellectuals Society warns all nationalist and noble Iraqi parties against the movements of these mercenaries in our dear country and calls on them to take necessary measures to arrest and expel these criminal agents from Iraq. It also asked to pass on any information about these agents to the US forces, and expose them personally, so that other criminals of the Quds force, who have not refrained from any crime and brutality against the people of Iraq, do not dare to make Iraq the arena for their activities.
