Tasnim news agency belongs to the Revolutionary Guards and the Quds Force of the Iranian Mullah regime.
Tasnim, which has recently been used as a news source by several Albanian media, belongs to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) and terrorist Quds Force. This news agency was established in 2012. The board of directors of this Tasnim are key people affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps including the former IRGC commanders, Hamidreza Moghadamfaraz and, Majid Qolizadeh, the CEO of Tasnim who are among the people close to the IRGC.
The IRGC, responsible body for suppressing and massacring people during the recent years’ demonstrations, was placed on the terrorist list by the US government on April 15, 2015. At the same time, it was announced that Tasnim news agency belongs to the IRGC.
In October 2022, the ISNA news agency belonging to the Iranian regime announced that “the Canadian government put Tasnim news agency and several other news agencies affiliated with the Revolutionary Guards in the terrorist list.” According to the report of Tasnim International News Agency, the government of Canada has placed five Iranian media and the names of some people active in the field of information and media in its ban list in the two recent cases of sanctions it has imposed against Iran.
In the first sanctions package that was announced, “Tasnim News”, “Keyhan Daily” and “Noor News” were included in the sanctions list. Hossein Shariatmadari, the editor-in-chief of Kayhan newspaper, Ali Rezvani, a journalist of “Seda and Sima”, Peyman Jabali, the head of “Seda and Sima” of the Islamic Republic of Iran, were also among the people who were sanctioned.
In the second package of Canadian sanctions, Fars News Agency and a person named Ezzatullah Zarghami, the former head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Radio and Television, were the latest individuals and institutions to be targeted by the sanctions of the Canadian government.
Notably, Tasnim news agency has never denied its affiliation with the IRGC and the Quds terrorist force.
By publishing completely false news, Tasnim news agency is a propagator of the fundamentalist and extremist policies of Iranian dictatorial regime, and the terrorist policies of the Iranian regime. The news coverage of this news agency covers domestic and international affairs and often emphasizes anti-Western sentiments and strong support for the IRGC’s radical principles.
For example, Tasnim wrote about Covid-19: “Covid-19 is part of the “American and Jewish conspiracy to dominate the world through population control designed by Henry Kissinger. »”
The role of Tasnim news agency in publishing propaganda against the People’s Mojahedin
Tasnim is infamous for publishing false news and information against the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran, the main group opposed to the Iranian regime. The IRGC always tries to make the People’s Mojahedin look evil by publishing false news. This media continuously uses labels such as terrorist, cult, suppression of its members, an undemocratic and unpopular organization with no support among the people, etc.
Using special journalistic initiatives and methods, Tasnim tries to publish some false news about the People’s Mojahedin controversially before it is posted by other news agencies so that other media are also affected by it and the falsehood is already disseminated. As in recent times, especially after the recent issues related to the Mujahedin based in Albania, Tasnim has managed to promote such lies and get coverage for some of its lies in some Albanian media.
For example, Tasinem was the source of false news about the ban on the entry or exit of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi from Albania. It has also claimed that the Mujahideen are getting ready to move to Canada. On August 17, the Canadian True North news website, quoting the spokesperson of the Mujahideen in Paris, about the news of the transfer of the Mujahideen to Canada wrote, “This news is nonsense and lie … and is not worth responding to.”
Tasnim, this propaganda organ, is a terrorist institution that was established with the specific purpose of suppressing the people and the opposition of Iran. Such a media cannot be considered or quoted as a reliable news source, even with low credibility.
